Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde: “Shame on You Corrupt Leaders” | Nollywood Star tweets about Corruption, Health Care & More
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is saying it like she means it.
On Thursday 13th June 2013, the Nollywood sensation took to social networking site Twitter to speak on the lamentable state of the country, caused by many Nigerian leaders who fail to deliver their constitutional responsibilities.
The 35 year old human rights activist who was recently honoured as an icon by Time Magazine tweeted “Hmm…I keep asking. What is the value of a Nigerian life. What is the primary job of a government.”
She then followed up with a series of tweets on maternal mortality, health care and most importantly corruption.
“Shame on humans who pledge to serve fellow humans, get in to power and ignore their duties, intimidate the citizens, becoming headboys of local schools”.
“Are Nigerians entitled to health care benefits? What’s the way forward from maternal mortality for a start?’.
“I will do something, perhaps with OYEP (Omotola Youth Empowerment Programme), you can too sign petitions…, we trend with anything, we can with petitions”.
“And finally shame on you who sees this message and your conscience hunts but are afraid to retweet because your voice has been bought”
