Film won't be like book, says World War Z writer

Writer Max Brooks has said that the forthcoming screen adaptation of his book 'World War Z' won't be anything like his source material.

Brooks says that the film, which stars Brad Pitt, will share the 2006 book's name 'and that's it'.

“I knew they were going to rewrite it,” he said. “I grew up in Hollywood. I knew it was going to go through a million changes.”

Atonement director for 50 Shades?

Joe Wright is reportedly the front-runner to helm the big screen adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel '50 Shades of Grey'.

The Hollywood Reporter puts the 'Atonement' and 'Anna Karenina' director in the hot seat, despite a number of other top names showing interest.

It emerged last week that Gus Van Sant had gone as far as filming a sex scene as test footage with actor Alex Pettyfer to supply to Universal and Focus Features in the hope of getting the job.

Wright has previously worked with Focus Features on many of his films, including 'Atonement', 'Anna Karenina', 'Hanna' and 'Pride & Prejudice'.

British writer Kelly Marcel is adapting the book for the screen, though as yet there's no word on who may star as Anastasia Steele, the ingenue who embarks on a torrid affair with a wealthy older man.

The likes of Mila Kunis and Emma Watson have been linked to the role, but so far all have denied involvement.

Likewise, the male protagonist Christian Grey also remains uncast.

The book, a worldwide smash hit, has sold over 70 million copies.

This week ‘Avengers’ stars Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson threatened to quit Marvel if the tight-fisted studio didn’t give them more cash for the ‘Thor’ and ‘Avengers’ sequels.

The Marvel spat is unusual because usually movie stars get a HUGE paycheque for the sequel if the original is a hit.

American Idol to drop all 4 judges. Randy Jackson makes a statement

According to reports, none of the current American Idol judges are being asked back. AI ratings have dropped by almost 25% from last year. By far the lowest ratings the show has ever had.  
The Wrap reports:

“All four are gone,” the insider told TheWrap. “They feel they’ve lost their core audience and they want it back.”

E! News reports:

“Yes, we want to do a whole new panel - but, just like last time around, it depends on who we get,” a Fox source confirmed to E! News in response to a report that all four judges will be leaving after this season because the now 12-year-old show is in need of a massive jolt of new energy.

The longest serving Idol judge Randy Jackson has released a statement confirming his exit from the show. Find it after the cut...

Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season.”

While there is no official confirmation yet, I can pretty much say, with confidence, that D’Banj has signed Olamide to DB Records.
Rumours have been flying around in recent weeks as they’ve both been seen at several events together. At this moment, Olamide is in  Atlanta with D’banj. Not sure why but all fingers point to them teaming up at DB Records.
