BBA Untouchables: The Sacred Cows

Having closely followed the 2013 Big Brother Africa (The Chase) it has become a general observation and conclusion that a few of the housemates have enjoyed, to a large extent, the 'Sacred Cow Syndrome'.They are largely accepted by housemates and viewers. They hardly entertain any vestige of fear as regards nomination for eviction.Such a privilege and advantage in this context, can largely be attributed, but is not limited to a few factors – physical make-up, social integration and gregariousness, affable disposition, poise, humour and hilarity et al.A few of the housemates who fall into this category are Nigeria's shrewd, immediate past Diamond Head Of House, Melvin; Ethiopian, level-headed, affable Bimp; South African tattooed and Indecipherable Angelo. For these three, their names have never been mentioned by any of the housemates for nomination. Apart from the qualities mentioned above, luck also has to be said to have shone on them. This is because, no matter how much a person tries to endear himself to people, once he is found to be uninteresting, it wouldn't work. For the likes of Tanzanian Nando and Motswana Motamma, they could be said to have fallen out of the category by a hair's breadth as they got their first nominations this week.Other housemates who have been nominated by fellow housemates but still have a strong hold on the house are Namibia's pretty Dillish, Zimbabwean co-ordinated Hakeem, and Ghanaian Annabel. Our readers may have their own take and position on the above; but this is ours.
